Jennifer concentrates her practice in the area of employment practice and workers compensation defense. In the employment area, Jennifer advises business and human resource professionals on compliance with Federal and State employment laws, including harassment, anti-discrimination, retaliation, Fair Labor Standards Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, wage and hour, and unemployment. She has provided training for other attorneys, management and employees. She has prepared employment policies, handbooks, non-competition agreements, non-disclosure agreements and severance agreements. Jennifer has represented employers in Federal and State court litigation and before administrative agencies and has extensive experience in mediating cases. She has handled matters before the Illinois Department of Human Rights, the Illinois Commission on Human Rights, the Missouri Civil Rights Commission, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and other agencies.
Jennifer has tried numerous workers compensation cases in Illinois and Missouri and handled appeals through the 4th District Appellate Court of Illinois.
In addition to defending employment practice and workers compensation claims, Jennifer handles a wide range of matters, including mechanic’s liens, civil defense, probate and estate planning matters.
Jennifer is a frequent author and lecturer on employment practice and workers compensation issues, speaking to many groups, including other attorneys seeking continuing legal education. She focuses many of her discussions on issues of risk management and prevention.
Jennifer has served many organizations, particularly focusing on family wellness and child protection, including her involvement with CASA and West Central Child Care Connection.
